Role Description

Rheumatology Associates, P.C. is seeking an energetic candidate that provides excellent patient care. This candidate must be a quick learner and able to multi task. Experience with NextGen and/or Rheumatology preferred but not required. This position is the assistant to a very busy provider seeing 35+ patients per day. The schedule is M-Th 7:45a-5p and 2 Fridays a month 8-11:30. We offer a competitive salary and great benefits including health, dental and vision insurance as well as a 401K match.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Assistant or LPN
• Knowledge of medical procedures and patient care
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a medical team environment

Essential Functions

1. Direct and coordinate services to ensure a smooth operating clinic
2. Obtain/Update/Amend patient health history, including current medications, allergies, and recent surgeries.
3. Obtain and document vital signs, height, and weight in the EMR.
4. Administer PO, IM, and subcutaneous injections.
5. Assist with exams, treatments, and procedures as needed.
6. Provide education to patients and family members.
7. Complete nursing documentation in the EMR.
8. Complete orders, tasks, and messages routed by physician.
9. Clean, disinfect, sterilize instruments.
10. Maintain exam rooms or suites ensuring that they are properly stocked with necessary supplies prior to and during a patient visit.
11. Communicate effectively with physician and all members of the practice
12. Other duties as assigned.
